THERE'S A NEW GIRL IN TOWN

There is a new girl in town. We had to find a buddy for Lucy our Rhode Island Red Hen as all of the other hens are Americaunas and they have their own little click and do not let Lucy join in all of the fun. In fact, Elvis our Rooster has been very mean to Lucy by pecking out all of her feathers on the back of her neck. So now let me introduce Ethyl who will now be Lucy's BFF.

Sorry for the bad picture. I have Lucy and Ethyl in their own cage so that Lucy can re cooperate from her wounds and to keep them away from the other snooty girls for the moment. That's Lucy in the background checking Ethyl out.

Have a great day!
Irma :)

What a couple of "cute chicks"!

I watched the Martha Stewart show today and it was all about backyard chickens. Did you see it? (If not, you can see them on her website)

I've had Bantham chickens before and really enjoyed them.

Talk to you soon ;)

I want some chickens, too!
Poor Ethyl got picked on by Elvis :(
He's not a gentleman, is he ;)?
Thank you for showing us your chickens!
Blessings!

Irma, Cute new girl! I am desperately trying to find 2 turkey hens and I don't care what kind they are, just Hens. If you know anyone who has some to sell, please let me know.

Just love the new girl. My poor hens have all of their feathers off of their backs as well. I am about to pen the roosters away from them. Have a great weekend. blessings,Kathleen

Kathleen, now that's a great idea. I'll just pen up my rooster for awhile. I hate keeping Lucy and Ethyl all penned up, but now I'll just keep Elvis penned up. I don't think he will like it much.

There's something so comforting about the sound chickens make - the cluck.cluck sort of sound. Thank you for sharing Ethyl with us. Hugs - Julie P.S. - Hope you post more photos later.
