I'M LATE, I'M LATE! TIME TO PARTY!

Curious? Well come on in and join us in the magical "Mad Hatter's Tea Party. Don't fit through the door? Perhaps you need some magical potion to help shrink you to size. Well take a swallow but please be kind enough to leave some for the rest of the party guests as many more are sure to follow.
Oh my, we have some party crashers. Mrs. Butterworth and the Gingerbread Boy. They just could not stay away, any time there is a party going on they just have to be there as they love to dance the night away. They just love to party hardy! She thought she could sneek in by wearing a mask.

The Queen of Hearts has arrived but doesn't feel quite sure if she plans to stay until she sees the delicious sweets (she thinks the party is for her, heh heh!)

Do you dare? Will you grow tall or will you shrink?

Thanks for stopping by, enjoyed your company , the party was a blast. Now I know your partying has just begun. So tah tah! Have fun but watch out for the Mad Hatter.
Head on over to Vanessa's http://afancifultwist.typepad.com for the rest of the party list.

Not the recipe for the cake in my photograph but a lovely Orange cake indeed.
Blessings~
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/2 cup unsweetened orange juice
1/4 cup unsweetened apricot nectar
20 1/2 ounces canned unsweetened mandarin oranges -- drained
***ANGEL CAKE***
6 egg whites
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar, PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup sifted coke flour
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon orange extract
1 cup frozen whipped topping -- thawed
Turn this recipe into a puzzle! [click]

Directions:

Combine sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan. Add orange juice and apricot nectar, stirring until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, 5 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat; stir in oranges, reserving 1/4 cup oranges for garnish. Chill thoroughly.

Slice Angel Cake in half horizontally, using a long serrated knife. Place one layer on a cake plate; spoon chilled orange mixture over layer. Top with second cake layer. Spread whipped topping over top of cake; garnish with reserved orange sections. Chill thoroughly.

For Angel Cake: Beat egg whites (at room temperature) until foamy. Add cream of tartar and salt; beat until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar, 2 tablespoons or a time, beating until stiff peaks form.

Sprinkle flour over egg white mixture; fold in carefully. Gently fold in flavorings. Pour batter into an ungreased 9-inch round cakepan. Bake at 325 for 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes our clean. Cool in pan 40 minutes. Remove cake from pan, and cool completely.
