I did not raise her that way...I just don't know what happened. I did not raise her to become a
cannibal... and she is starting to set a bad
influence on
Ethyl. Now Lucy has been conspiring with
Ethyl to join her evil ways. I just don't know what to do. I have been listening for her cackle every morning and I rush out to try to save those eggs. Some days I'm lucky and some days she beats me in recovering those precious eggs and she just flips her little beak up in the air as to say ... eggs, what eggs, there are no eggs in this nest today. I had been wondering for a while why I was not finding Lucy and
Ethyl's eggs until one day I caught her (Lucy) in the act...pecking away at the eggs. Right now she doesn't know how lucky she is in getting away with this act. If DH finds out I'm for sure she will become next Sunday's dinner. Yep.....she just doesn't know how lucky she is.

Oh no... I'm sorry Irma. I've had a few egg-eaters, too... and it's very hard to break them from the habit!
Hi Irma......Oh dear..... this is not good...... I have no clue ..... maybe Google your problem ... I'm sure someone will have a solution.
Sometimes, extra oyster shell helps keep their appetite down. You might try that. Good luck. blessings,Kathleen
Oh no Irma, I think my sister Laurie might now why she does this. I'll have to ask her tomorrow.
How have you been?
Deanna :D
Wow...I had no idea chickens would do this...so I am clueless, hope you figure it out soon!

Uh oh. It's a bit funny bit I am sure very frustrating! I hope she quits before the hubs catches her, that would be unfortunate.
Thanks for coming by and entering my giveaway Irma, have a great day and I hope you have lots of eggs tomorrow!
I have wanted chickens for some time, but since we live in city ...

Like Kathleen stated....Do you give them oyster shells?? That might be part of the problem. I also give them egg ration food. Not just scratch!
